I'd like to ask this now (not finished looking through all of your fabulous stories yet), are you going to write a background for this? Or ever continue it? That would be great if you could. :) |

K.M.Mackenzie 2008-04-14 . chapter 1I never realised this came up. Or I simply dismissed the email. Either way I only just read it.
One thing I need you to know, after all my experience as a past Buffy fan and presently being an avid reader of the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer, is that there are no rules to what is defined as a vampire other than the consumption of blood for sustenance. Gosh, don't I sound smart? Anyway, Meyer's "vampire" uses the eyes to indicate thirst, black for empty and gold/red for full depending on your fancy - human or animal. They are also stealthy fast, cold as ice, solid as marble and the are inhumanly beautifult with their white skin and enhanced features. A vampire is created by being bitten as the poison from the fangs runs through the veins of the body and transforms the human into a vampire, stopping the heart.
But that's completely different to the gist you're working on, which is the common portrayal of vampire complients and what is usually refered to whenever any movie or story refers to this supernatural creature.
Personally, I like Meyer's play on it, it's a bit wittier than the general misconceptions of the public portrayal of blood-drinkers.
So there you have it. My point is that you can't go wrong as long as they drink blood, they are, invariably, a vampire.
Love and mental health,

LadyOfLiterature 2008-02-15 . chapter 1I loved this. I especially like your dialogue - very realistic. I like how you made it supernatural, but subtly, so it's totally believable. |
