It wasn't trash at all! I loved it, it made me think... and that's what a good story is supposed to do, isn't it? I agree, nothing ever changes, simply because we never learn from our own mistakes. Not really. We get over the past, and end up doing the exact same thing over and over again.
I don't believe people can change, not really... some part always remains. And it's the same for everything, history, nature, and even trivial things.
You're right about Nero, I think.

I enjoyed this very much. Especially the part about the snake writhing on a blood soaked ground as it devours its on tail...I love metaphors. I also enjoyed the different font styles and use of parentheses. They're really helpful in getting your message across. Though, you did have one tiny grammar mistake.

Does is the correct form.

But ignoring that, this way a great piece.^^
