| xDistortedReALiTyx 2008-02-26 ch 1, | abuse!! This is really awesome! I'm slightly in shock that I haven't reviewed this already, but I haven't been on here too much recently... "I’m a million things, I said, she replied, “and not a single one you know”" Ahh. It makes me shiver a bit. It's a bit how I'm feeling right now. ..I know this is coming slightly out of nowhere, but I was re-reading some of my old reviews (I'm home sick, bored, etc.) and there was a poem that I wrote that you reviewed, and you said "I wonder if we'll look back on this and think, hey, at least I had food or something'"...and when I re-read it, I felt that way. So, you called it =] Just letting you know. Keep writing. -pammy- |
| sunday night sky 2008-01-09 ch 1, | abuseInteresting piece. My fave part is: The million things are the moon outside, It, like humans, means nothing at all And hopes otherwise. Gorgeous. I love it. :) |
| Moondog Dozier 2008-01-07 ch 1, | abuseI like the tentative thought in this. Like it's questioning itself as it progresses. The mixture of concrete descriptions with more abstract concepts adds to the complexity of the scene provided. It possesses the kind of realizations that tend to arrive unrehearsed in the early morning hours. The way that you've used unique comparisons and recognizable imagery, "an old sales flier that flew from place to place", and "when misery hangs like nausea" guides the reader into the moment. We've all had these feelings, but haven't been able to pinpoint them with such symbolism. As a side note, I wish you'd write more, or post more of what you may have written. You present from such a unique angle in the majority of your works. Great write. MD:77. |
| no.peace.los.angeles 2008-01-07 ch 1, | abuseOh, this is so beautiful. I love the strange images that just work - "yellow light and dead flies," "the million ideas fallen from the freezer door." Just gorgeous. Original wording and just fabulous. Keep writing! :) |
| diffident 2008-01-06 ch 1, | abuseI love love love love this, doll. You have no idea. This reminds me of a similar "momentarily surreal" episode I had. (Well, it was more than a moment, but it felt that brief.) I get exactly what you mean with the fourth stanza, needing to exist on more than a microscopic level, needing to be more than, or at least mean something at all. Onion, I love this. :] your lola |
| EmbersAblaze 2007-12-30 ch 1, | abuseI know. And my song right now are Rihanna's. I Hate That I Love You, and REHAB... But I posted my new poem to let people know I'm not the only one "who's got it bad" for someone. BAD is BAD! Thank you for being a loyal reviewer. Your sayings are always shor and sweet, even though at times... bittersweet! love for the new year, ~Melinda~ |
| blackoutroses 2007-12-30 ch 1, | abuseperhaps an old idea, but beautifully written. |
