Nemonus 2008-02-16 . chapter 1Interesting! Such a different view of school. It sortof shows how everyone blames everyone else--the teachers think the students are "mule-headed", the students think the teachers are "totalitarian", each backs their own opinions up with scathing words. Very good... |
glimpses from an ivory tower 2008-01-18 . chapter 1Well, I've owed you this one for awhile:
For some strange reason, this reminds me insistently of Sr. Mary. The imagery is fitting for the torture of school, especially the line about 'unwilling anvils to your hammer'. And I like the ending, though how it fits within the poem's overall meaning is a bit beyond me. Perhaps it suggests students emerge broken from the fight, trying not to heed their teachers' condescending advice, but unable to truly resist?
Nice work here, and thanks a million for analyzing my poetry so closely :) |
