Dreaming Maya 2009-06-18 . chapter 1That was a good story! It was orginal and fun to read. But I have a few questions, how are poeple be 'improsioned by folded paper'? and how did the princess and the peasant meet? And who created the paper witch? I mean, I doubt paper is born, but I was jus' curious! I liked it a lot |
Pterodactyl 2008-08-17 . chapter 1I consider myself an Origamist. and so I am smiling at the story right now. Of course, I love fairytales too, this one seems reminicent of a French style story.
Very good story. My only lamentation was the lack of overly pronounced details. As is the custom in most Fairy Tales.
This reminds me of what I was going to do with my folded items when I got a stopmotion camera.
Thank you for the story, sorry if my review makes little to no sense.

Will Sachiksy 2008-01-24 . chapter 1You have a nice concept, and I appreciated the thought behind the banning of items by the origami queen (the water ban was particularly inspired). The style and tone, however, swung between Brothers Grimm and modern influences to distract from the story. The story seems to be more well suited to an older style than a newer (though you don't have to make Grimm your model).
Also, the plot held an unfulfilled idea or two too many. For example, the love interest serves only to propel the peasant into action and draws attention from the rest of the story without having any real significance. If you need an excuse for him to resist the paper ban, why not make him a printer (or something of that nature)? Reducing the plot elements will make your focus sharper and give you room for some needed expansion of the core events of the story.
Overall, I think you have a interesting story, and the repetition or sentence structures throughout the story really give weight to the events described. Just try to pair down the plotting and draw out the events. |
 Tranquil Thorns 2008-01-13 . chapter 1This is awesome! =D
I adore fairy tales, and yours kept me reading and engaged all the way. When I read the line that the evil queen was made of folded paper, this image of a huge, tyrannical paper swan popped into my head. =X It made me giggle.
Like I said, very entertaining! =) I really have no criticism to offer, just my words of praise. |
