This is absolutely beautiful. I am in awe. Especially of the ending. Even if parts of the story don't follow the original myth, I think the way you've written it only makes the story more powerful.

I love the insight you had on the myth of Echo! Beautiful ending, as ususual. I might have said this before, but I love how your characters go through such emotional anguish.

Oh wow, oh wow, oh wow. That was a gorgeous retelling of the myth. And more tragic than the original.

I don't know how you always manage to spin something wonderful out of something that might otherwise fall nothing short of banal. Here, however, I think it was the addition of their "conversations". The way she echoes his words but with her own meaning is almost a reflection of how this story echoes the original.
