jasonc65 2008-01-21 . chapter 1I'm against sexual perversion of all kinds, as much as I am also against abortion. When people say that sex is merely an animal instinct, they are flat out wrong. Sex is a gift from God, and like all God's gifts, when they are taken out of their intended context, they do not bring joy but hang people out to dry. When they argue thus: the animals are doing it, so should we, they don't know what they are talking about. For on the contrary, the animals have their institutions, their breeding patterns, their sex rites. Cats don't breed without caterwauling and bloodletting, deer don't mate out of season, and some birds mate in pairs remaining faithful for life. The animals, even if they do it much differently than we, don't do it just because it feels good, so even that is no reason for the slogan, "if it feels good, do it". Since human mores are higher than animals', so should human sex. Since God made us in his image, marriage must be "made in heaven". Animals don't try to redefine breeding; humans should not be redefining marriage.
Most arguments for abortion are silly. Babies are not wanted because they may overcrowd the earth. Animals never worry about over-crowding, and yet their regular breeding habits tend to keep their populations in balance. Perhaps we should take care that we don't breed out of wedlock, so that we would bring children into homes where they are wanted rather than finding ourselves overwhelmed with unwanted children. When women are unexpectedly and sometimes against their will made pregnant, rather than appealing to their emotions as so many politicians tend to so, why not encourage them to respond to the situation with love rather than repaying evil with evil? Joan Osborn supports Rock for Choice, but will anyone speaking for the unborn ask, "What if God was One of Us?" By our twisted logic, we would have aborted the God-man. We care so much about saving the earth, but just as there was no room in the inn for Y'shua, is there not room on God's green earth for a baby? Not much has changed in 20 years. As we think about the coming election, Senator Obama, as no doubt several viable candidates from both parties, claims to be a moral person with Christian family values, but where does he get off on defending "women's choice", by which is really meant, "women's right to murder babies"? Annoying grandmothers may also be unwanted, but can they be murdered? My mom is an admirable lady. She puts up with a 60-year old baby who is always in the hospital, who needs a diaper badly, and who is very difficult to get along with. It would never occur to her to "put him to sleep". These babies are helpless and innocent, they have never had an opportunity to show themselves to be spoiled brats, and it is we parents who often spoil them. The unborn deserve better. |
