Prom is nowhere near as much of a big deal here in the UK as it is in America yet... we've only recently started doing it in a desperate bid to keep kids staying on at school so they can be like the cool Americans in the movies. Even so, this sort of thing makes me glad I left school before I had to go through it. The language is simple but evocative, and if you can give me the impression of what it feels like when I've never done that sort of thing it must be good. :)

I had such a hard time putting my senior prom into words... so I just gave up. But you're off to a wonderful start and I can't wait to read the rest.
