I like this. Something in my everyday life rang through it, something bigger than a failed crush. I love the semi metaphor. I like the physical descriptions, though the MC is a bit of a Brittany, to coin a phrase.

This was an excellent story. It sounds like a oneshot though... which is sad. Keep writing!
