| paris is burning 2008-02-13 ch 1, | abusewell, thanks first of all for your kind words. i really appreciate it, and it makes me undeniably relieved that i don`t actually sound like a teenybopper. so, hooray. :`D anyways, about religion ... yeah, to be honest, i`m rather indifferent to it, rather i don`t believe in an omnipresent being like god - i`m far too cynical, haha. a lot of poets i know are religious, and the poems in which they write about god, i don`t know, they don`t hit me as hard because i don`t share the beliefs? to put it simply, i`m a lover, not a believer. that being said, i`ll be sure to focus on some "religious/anti-religious" poetry, it`s obviously something i need to work on. |
| Julius Gillian 2008-02-13 ch 1, | abuseI agree with you, when I gaze into those dark souless eyes they remind me too much of our past and give us the bare bones that evolution had to tackle through in order to produce us. It's quite profound, it almost has an uncanny supernatural feel to it the whole 'how we got here'. We went from nothing to people sitting at home watching TV on a planet in a (seemingly) lonely universe. You're quite intelligent for your age, I believe I said that already but I wanted to point out again you have insight not many budding teenagers would admit to or notice. Despite all that however, I've never seen a religious poem from you, or a poem about spirituality or your atheism or your beliefs whatever that may be. Perhaps you're indifferent? I was curious about that. Take care, this is an excellent poem. I read it in slow motion and it ran like a movie in slow motion haha. - Julian |
