Mourning Sickness 12/19/08 . chapter 1This still is and will always be one of my favorite pieces. I love it, and it has this amazing ability to astound me every time I read it. |
TaltushMeiMei 2/15/08 . chapter 1An interesting story (beginning of a story? It feels amazingly incomplete), clearly done, vividly described, and smoothly written. I think it gets a bit too confusing when you start talking about the many boys. The heroin boy, the surfer boy... I couldn't follow which "he" was which, and that just made the passage difficult and annoying. If this is an opening chapter to a longer story, then this whole piece overall is okay. If not, it's not only incomplete, but awkwardly spaced. There are too many details and side stories. It got a bit confusing and bothersome, but if the story expands, it could work. On the whole, it's intriguing. I like the name (names get the story going) and I think this could go some place interesting. |
Lauren Perkins 2/14/08 . chapter 1I liked the conversational tone of this, and I like the prose. It's poetic without effort, which is very nice to read. Great job, and I look forward to reading more of your work. |
