abuseI like a lot of this.. the rhyming is great and some of the metaphors like the car one and being blue was really well done... but as a piece.. I dunno the stanzas didnt seem to flow together as a cohesive poem, but maybe that's just me... thanks for your review!

abuseHmm, my problem with this poem is that it sounds very pompous if not ostentatious, and that kind of makes me cringe because I tend to think about all the 'things' this person may 'not' be that either directly contradicts what they say or shows another side of them.

This poem reads like a math book and that's how far 'logic and reasoning' goes in poetry.

To be fair though, yeah, it is my opinion. And I have to understand that you're relating this to the real world, and not basing logic on poetry. That's clearly not what you were intending to say.

Even though someone may be more rational than others, that still doesn't stop us from think about what goes on in other people's heads, it still doesn't stop us from second-guessing what other people will do. Not to mention that we still rely much on no-evidence that smacks of faith and belief. Not so much as religion, but things like 'believing' the school bus will bring me to school, or having faith in your dad for being a responsible parent. We assume and believe things will act according to our perspective.

Bah, this poem has made me go into a philosophical mood. I guess I have to commend you for that, it was worth reading even if it 'felt' kind of snooty and mechanical.

'My dad called it a car in the dark,
Only man kind can see inside the car.
But his ability, and mine,
We can see far.'

I guess you're promoting you and your father's intelligence, but do you see how it can sound a bit strong? I don't feel it's very reasonable to exemplify your family above another family, or a whole population.

One thing I really like about this poem though is that you constantly keep up with the theme. You're able to build enough and end with enough, and I really really like that.

It was more or less satisfactory.
