this perfectly captures a number of concepts; insomnia, "writer's block", discontentment, depression. just lovely.

Good; tis smooth and evocative of a feeling of restlessless, of writer's block. "shallow graves" is an excellent term for that, and I could see the keyboard motif throughout the first two stanzas. Nice sorta self-referential use of the French (I hope I've got my languages right...) also.
