I liked this a lot - the true arrogance of a blue-blood who honestly doesn't know what being poor is about. He's not evil, he's your archetypical lord albeit put forth in a very interesting manner. He'd be quite surprised to think of himself as archetypical, though, and protest that he's kind, honorable, truly noble not like some of those dreadful noveau rich... vicious circle.

Very, very interesting! At least this chapter was! You simply had me rivetted - it's a pity you haven't received reviews for such a cool story! It does seem that all good stories get ignored, no? Simply fascinating... but isn't Karuri's oldest son helping his mother at work? A strapping lad of fifteen... oh dear, I sound medieval.
