Aw, this was so cute! Who cares if it's idealistic? I really, really liked it anyway.

I especially loved this line: "I called her Hazel, because a beautiful girl deserved a beautiful name." That just leapt out at me, for some reason.

Just wondering, have you seen "Kill Bill"? Only I got a sense of "Kill Bill" when I read this (the basic plot, but in reverse, which you wouldn't understand if you haven't seen it... and now I'm babbling).

Anyway... interesting author's note; are you planning on expanding on this?

I think you did a nice job here.

I like how you hint at a deeper story but don't delve too far into it. It gives this piece a bit of mystery and leave the reader to decide on the details, and I like that in a story.

Are you planning to write more? In any case, this stands nicely alone, too.
