the technical photo junk is fine, i just think cora is an awfully boring person. it seems you're listing the things she does throughout the day, and she's very... uninteresting. no real social interaction, no hobbies... just school, homework, food, sleep. and in between, talking (or pretending to listen) to two or three people. this girl needs to get a life.

color me impressed. not only did you manage to take the endless monotony of twilight fanfiction and turn it into something realistic, not to mention readable, you creatively played up the emotions every teenage girl deals with. and that entire bit i just typed sounds incredibly stupid, but still, good job.

I wanted to comment earlier, but my computer's been going haywire.. I've just got great digital karma. Anyways, it's taken me a while but I finally figured out what your style reminds me of. I don't think you'll know it, but there's a Dutch author called Gerard Reve, and his book The Evenings (De Avonden in Dutch)is written in kind of the same style as your story is: though the reader follows all the actions and dialogues of the main character, there is no glimpse into his thoughts. Your story does actually allow the reader to hear Cora's thoughts sometimes, but more often than not you choose to keep us out of her emotions and thoughts. It makes her seem very distant, maybe pragmatic.. I think it's a really interesting way of writing, especially because she may or may not be falling in love with Christian -this remains sort of obscure.

Yeah, and full bonus points for talking about JOHN STAMOS. I don't think I ever opened my eyes wider at my screen. x

Hah, it makes me happy that you mentioned Aladdin...I actually just came home from being in the stage version of it (tonight was our last performance, so sad!). This was a good chapter. I half expected something to...*happen* there with Cora and Christian. But I'm sort of glad you're waiting on that...it makes it that much more fun to read!

I have to say that I absolutely love this story so much! I really like you're writing style and how everything seems very realistic. I also love that Cora is such a laid-back character and how you've progressed Christian and Cora's relationship so far. I was so sad when I came to the end of this chapter and realized there was no more story for me to read, so I can't wait until you post the next chapter. Oh, and I love the snippets you put in about memories from Cora's past with her classmates--little things like that really set your story apart from most.
