I love this story so much. It has the darker undertone with them never being able to properly be together for too long but then it's sweet and beautiful at the same time. I can remember reading this story a while back but for some reason I didn't review and the other day I suddenly started thinking about it so I came investigating, haha. But I love the story. It's really good, and original.

I just wanted to ask a quick question on this, and sorry if someone has already asked this: Is this the same Ethan as in "Must Be Crazy for Me" and "The Christmas Story," or is it just a coincidence?

I read this even though I don't like sad stories. I got the the foreshadowing about Andrew dying in yet another war and considered reading something else instead. But only for a moment.

I'm glad I finished it.

"It is the twentieth century". I'm sure you mean twenty-first century.

Nicely done. And I like (your version of) that quote.

Jeez, I cried so hard when Will and Lyra had to be separated at the end :( But the story was good. Yours, I mean. Weird, but in a good way.

Oh wow. This was so awesome. Completely unique, well written and dynamic with just about perfect amount of love(sickness). I must admit,I thought you were about to kill Andrew again, even in the end.So I was pleasantly surprised when you didn't.

I even thought something like 'Andrew doesn't deserve Alan,he doesn't love him enough',only to realize later that Alan maybe wouldn't have loved Andrew as much as he did if he were different;if he gave up on other people to be happy himself.Besides,it was Andrew's personality to be so philanthropic towards others. That's who he was and that's who Alan loved. And anyway, the time wasn't right for them, for their love. Not until the end.

It's something that is a fact even now,and was a fact at those times you described. Sometimes, the timing just isn't right. And even though love is strong,it just can't be.

Gawd,I really went on and on and on and on...alrighty then,I'm gonna stop now.

God, that was amazing. So poignant. I'm crying. The only problem I had with this is the names. Alan and Andrew...they were too easy to mix up. I picked it up eventually but I had to keep stopping and figuring out who was who. Other than that this story was fantastic. God...I wish I could find the words to properly express how amazing it is but I can't put words to it. Wow...just wow. This will be one of those stories that I'll never forget and I'll always look back on for inspiration. Loved it. Really, really loved it and I feel the need to thank you for writing it because I'm so glad I read it.

wonderful and really cute at the end. the asclepion was completely believable as a fully functional secret society, and the magic also felt very real. actually i feel like the ending could've been a bit more bittersweet since andrew keeps dying, but in this story death is treated very lightly anyway. sort of reminds me of that "thousand years" song by sting.

I like how at the end he gave up trying to change fate and just focused on trying to be happy.

You have a great gift for writing.

I'm serious. This, and the stories you've written before marvel me.

I, once again, notice your ties to the Vietnamese heritage. I'm delighted that you include it in your stories.

Sometimes, I wonder if I've met you before. Just sometimes. Maybe at Phuoc Loc Tho or something. I don't know.

Just keep on writing. I can tell you're a great author.

This was an incredible story. It wasn't as sad as I thought it would be after reading the description; in fact, it wasn't sad at all. It was just all-around great. Near the beginning, when I hadn't completely set the characters to memory, I got Alan and Andrew a little mixed up because their names both start with A. I got over it, though. Despite the fact that Andrew keeps on dying, this story made me smile.

The way you wrote it had a very calm effect; this definitely was not a scream out loud story, but it was no less (can't think of the word. envisioning a blow directly to the heart. impactful?) for it. I loved it.

I loved this. :)

I love a good story. And this is one of those. It had a solemn way of telling the story, but not making it boring, because you always want to know, if mayby, just maybe, Andrew was going to live this time. One can almost feel Alan's pain, and frustration. It is a great one-shot, but it leaves the reader satisfied, because you know there is hope. It is a great piece, I hope you carry on with your work.

most of it was excellent. however in the middle it gets all mixed up and I'm not sure who's who. i'd like to see a redo of this bc I know you have the talent.
