Sorry this review is so late, i read this the moment i saw it was updated but my phone acts up when it comes to reviewing...needless to say getting to a computer to fully gather my thoughts and write a review became hard but anyway enoguh of my sob story and on to the review:

I won't lie, i had mix feelings the first time i read the chapter. So i did what i usually do and read it again and i am still conflicted.

I have a father that had to cut corners and live on the dark side but he loved his children more than anything. Yes, sometimes i cringed (the arm pulling) but then to know he love Judi enough to let her be with good people screams something to me.

Then you have two people that cared so much that they took in a broken girl and slowly started fixing things for her. This made me want to give Judi a good slap for the words she dished out in the beginning.

Then you have a boy who had to grow up really fast and took the wrong path on that journey. He spent so much time protecting his sister that it had to break something in him to lose her but then to find out it was of her own doing broke my heart into so many pieces that i needed to step away and gather my thoughts...

But of course you are a great writer so i looked deeper into the many chapters that has developed my beloved Judi and once again i saw a girl who was broken. she lost her father, brother, friends and Innocence and gained pain, mistrust and scars. Her means of protection had to be putting up a great big fortress that surrounded her mind and heart. And she place the last good thing from her dark past into that dark place never to surface again.

It is truly a sad moment and chapter...completely necessary, but sad. Until next time. I can't wait for Boxing Day.

Love this chapter! Always worth the wait! And oh one question I re read chapter 32 and I was wonderi why try said Theo was her 'real family' it confused me a little.

Oh my goodness the bombshell has been dropped. And again I thank you for realistic reactions. I know if what I had been told by mom what happened to Judi and the things I would have said-I know I would have been slapped.

And her mom is an amazing woman. They really rescued Judi from an awful situation and I guess they could see no recourse other than to offer what her birth "mother" (and I use that term loosely) would probably use as more drug money.

Man this was an (excellent) dramatic chapter but the air is cleared. Judi really did have to face that though. She needed to know and needed to remember.

love getting the backstory, only im still a bit disappointed. Normally when i read your updates it inspires me to write. this however was a bit lack luster compared to your normal genius. I know that might sound bad but its not. I just think there is better in you as you have showed us there is before. the last couple chapters are not comparing up to your other chapters. would love to get AJ back into the story. I miss Missy very much. Sadly i feel you have placed your beautiful story on the back burner and i always hate to see this happen. I hope you get your lust for the characters back soon. I cant wait till the next update.

I'm glad you finally explained the parent's side. But all in all, this is probably the worst chapter thus far. It's been over 4 years since you've published the story and still there seems to be no resolve this chapter only convinces me more that you're just kinda blocked or something. I was excited for the updated but it was more or less disappointing. I'm sure people will attack me for this comment, and you may too. But don't forget that the point of the review button is to ensure you, the author, gets a broad sense of people's reaction to your story. this is simply constructive criticism.

I reread the last chapter, and I actually really like Jared/feel so bad for him. :)

So i finally understand Judi's parents side now and it explains a lot about how they felt with the situation, but i still feel like we're missing something which will probably come up in the next couple chapters. Whether that's when she's with Jared? i don't know. Definitely looking forward to the second half of the chapter with Jared.

Thank you for the new chapter. Things are beginning to get clearer but I think it's still not enough. I'll be waiting for the next chapter, patiently because I understand that with your work it's not easy.

I was so relieved to hear Judi's parent's side of the story! Now if the misundersantding with Jared could be cleared up, we'd be well on our way to a happy ending! )

There's a few typos in there, but those are easy fixes and they didn't detract from the chapter.

I couldn't quite figure out this one though:

"My father finally nodded, his lawyer face on and impassive as he released my mother to head for the dining room with a quiet fine."

What does a "a quiet fine" mean? Is it Canadian slang?

This chapter makes up for so much and I am glad that they got this all out in the open but I wonder how her brother is going to feel once she explains it to him. Plus I really want her and AJ to fix things, I actually missed him in this chapter. Can't wait for more!

Judi is breaking my heart! I'm getting so upset right now over what's happened to her and she's just a fictional character! I am dying for the next chapter. Update quickly, please!

I kinda assumed that's what her parents did, providing an incentive for her Judy's biological mother and not physically buying Judy from her.

When I was reading Judy's descriptions of the picture, my heart hurt. No child should be treated like that.

Also, her biological father kept going into jail? Does that mean he was in a gang or something similar to that too? That's why Jared ended up in a gang?

The real question is though, why did she not want to see Jared? I'm guessing it's related to the Jean incident somehow..

I fell in love with this story and all the charaacters, especially how much Jude and how much she grows in this story. I'm sad there might be a chance that she might move :(. I just know AJ needs to do something and fix this...NOW! & please tell me you didnt forget this story & abandon it..update soon :)
