Is the laure an allusion to your pen-name?

Anyway: I like the image. The laure is less commonplace than the rose or the ivy. The poem is written in a very poetic language.

I like the historical feel to this (ancient Greece, right?) because I thought it added a touch more of magic/romanticism.

I love the gentle, soothing, strengthening tone. I got the impression of a noble-woman addressing a soldier, but that's my interpretation.
