Wow, that was a really good start! I like the descriptive language and the frustrated tone the story is set in. It's really easy to feel what the main character is feeling. I don't know if you like constructive criticism or not, but I really do, so I will mention that the one thing that I thought could do with improvement was the line "The tune had the same effect as that one where you clap if you're happy and you know it." For some reason, it bothered me. I know it's just a trifling little sentence, but for me at least, it momentarily pulled me out of the story a little. But anyway, keep it up! I'll be waiting for an update!
