| no.peace.los.angeles 2008-04-12 ch 1, | abuseI like this a lot. I agree with Julius Gillian on what he said, too; music is just so fake these days. Ugh. Your last two lines sum things up so well. Most music these days is all about appearances, about being something "trendy." It's why I hate bands like Fall Out Boy or My Chemical Romance. People like to say, "OMG, MCR saved my life," but those bands aren't real. Sure, I listen to some "fake" music, too, but I generally enjoy music that's poetic and my favorite artists do sing about things that have actually happened to them or are based off life experiences. Probably why I like singer-songwriters so much. They're much like poets. Anyway. Sorry, off on a bit of a tangent, and I'm sorry if you like FOB or MCR and I insulted you. :p Keep writing! :) |

| Julius Gillian 2008-04-11 ch 1, | abuseUgh, I absolutely agree. For example, when I listen to 80s or 90s music, even if they are not classic at least the majority I believe of them have taste, or character. Now with these new remakes with their sexual connotations have no class at all, with their high pitch squeals and fast paced energy drives. It makes me sick. Do you remember the moving The Sound of Music? Do you remember the scene where they were singing about the puppets? They mutilated that song into something hip and perverted.. and it sounds so fucking demonic. 'we should let the wind make its music while it continues to be harmless,' Let live and let live I say... Very creative and very true piece. Ps: Thanks for the read. - Julian |
