Okay, this story made me cry so much at the end. It was a really good story though and i'm glad that cage didn't give up and instead chose to push himself and strive to be a better father for the girls. I think you are a great writer and I can't wait to read the sequel!

Oh my god, I can't believe she died!

This story has evoked emotions in me that I haven't felt in a long time. Though it was sad to read, and I became angry with you for Bethany's death, I do understand your reasons for making such drastic/ life altering events. It does make it more ralistic than the usual 'story book romance' where they have one huge argument at the end, makes up and lives 'happily ever after'. I must admit that I, too, haven't gotten the privilege to fall in love, I do believe that some people fall in love for the wrong reason and some have fallen in love with the wrong impression of their 'loved one'--the idealized version. For some, they are lucky enough to fall in love for a second time. Whichever it is for Cage, I hope this one sticks around for the long run--for him, as wel as his girls. Hopefully this time around, she'll be the closest to perfection in reality, not interpretation. I'm glad he and his girls get a clean slate, and wouldn't have to prove to hard to her that they are worthy, nor would she to them. Can't wait to read the next stroy. Update often!

I like this story very much so far! I have a suggestion/question. Shouldn't there be...more drama/angst about the amount of women Cage had slept with during the years Bethany was gone? I dunno. I mean she had his child, never stopped loving and missing him, and she NEVER let a man touch her. Cage, however, SLEPT WITH TONS OF WOMEN and yet he claims that she's been on his mind constantly since she left and that he cleaned up his act for her and that he never stopped loving her. Just a thought, really. It's a great story no matter what!

I'm brand new on fp and am busy getting lost in the world of reading, i came across this story 'made to be broken' just after you had completed it and sat at my desk and read chapter after chapter as i had to know what happened. You say in your authors note that one of your aims was to make Bethany a character that the audience could love and hate at the same time but would still be greatly affected by her death. I really think you achieved this aim, i know i cried when Bethany died but throughout the story she had been such a frustrating character. Now that i have finished this story i am going to go on and read your others hopefully before you take them down as a result of plagiarism (gr at those people.)

Thank you for finishing this story and the information about the sequel. I think you've done a great job and really grown as an author, but... You mentioned in the note here, that this is supposed to be a story about Cage and that Bethany is not the starring role. The story definitely ended in a way that communicated that, but it really wasn't apparent until the last quarter. If you do an edit or rewrite in future, you might want to consider tweaking the earlier chapters to really reflect that. There is quite a bit of the story told from Bethany's point of view and because we see her thoughts and Cage doesn't, it doesn't feel as if we are on his journey. I hope this helps to polish up the final version.

In a lot of ways, the ending wasn't what I expected, but I liked it.
Although, I don't know what I was expecting.

I've really enjoyed reading Made to Be Broken.
I think you could easily get it published; it's so wonderfully written.

Admittedly, until Jersey Heart is posted, I won't check my email that often; hoping for a chapter has been the only thing keeping me checking my email!
