"Excellent work" certainly doesn't do this poem justice, nor any other word synonymous with "excellent" - or "beautiful," for that matter.

I like the end too, except the "ne'er" doesn't fit with the rest of the language.

This reminds me a lot of the poem I wrote recently. =P
We even started off in a similar manner.

Anywho, this is lovely. I especially liked the lines 'Leaving only footprints to fill the gap' and 'The promises your voice whispered my crutch'.
