Reviews For: Life Lives To Dreams End
Jesusfreak43091 2008-12-19 . chapter 1
hmm...interesting. i had to read it twice to get the actual meaning of it (the relating of butterflies and humans), but in the end i really liked it. i like the way you describe the beauty of a just turned butterfly to the adolescnece and growing of a human. it really clicks when you think about it =]

also, i really like the mental images given here. they're beautiful and i think you did a great job with it!

my favorite line: Roam free with dreams of tomorrow,
before wings are drowned by reigns of sorrow.

So I really like the lines "Kaleidoscope of colors, hypnotizing the mind; / spiral of ribbons dancing through the wind."
I take wind as if it were, you know, to wind a clock or what not. So I like it.
The ending's good. Like live for today, but you'll regret it tomorrow.
But as a poem over all, I feel like it was just a handfull of pseudo-philosophical pretentious couplets strung together.
Maybe tone down the metaphors/imagery a little. It's a bit overpowering.

Yeah you're right, lots of metaphors and imagery was used.It was a fascinating poem, though I had to read each stanza and think carefully to see the meaning behind each sentence. Some I didn't really quite understood. The rhyming matched and worked out wonderful.Very good!

I read your bio and one thing I got from that and you're author's note is that you're full of yourself. I like that.

Easy Fix Review:

I liked the rhyme scheme although you seem to have fudged it a bit at lines 17 and 18. It flows nicely and the smudge is so slight that it doesn't take away from the overall feel of the poem. "Laughter of adolesences, a golden cage..." This line captures my attention. The cage of 'youth' is golden instead of steel or iron making me think that's it's a cage that one doesn't resent being locked in. That is until 'the beauty of turbulent age' sets you free. The title seems to be the key to that starts this imagery. Life lives to dreams end: perhaps life only last as long as dreams do.
