The last two lines are divorced from the rest, it seems. I do like the rest, though; there's tons of truth in there, the sort you have to be an artist to see. "Strife goes well with dinner" is quite amusing while not knocking the reader out of the seriousness of the poem with comedy-it still keeps to the theme.

"Take some along for the ride" is too cliche, too expected (as were a few lines in 'Art in the Dark II', near the end.)

I love "tragedy twists tranquility" awesome alliteration!

"Calamity opens your eyes" is an awesome line, as well. I like how utilized rymes with eyes, nice word flow.
