| Einri Cade 2008-06-03 ch 1, | abuseDid Madeline become Shiva primarily to escape, or did she become Shiva to hold herself at a distance so that she may “destroy” her mother’s life? Or did one happen, and the other just happened along because it could? It seems like it’s the latter, but the correspondence between Madeline calling the cops on her mother after taking the drugs and Shiva taking the poisons seems too coincidental for it not to have been planned somewhat ahead of time by Madeline. What Madeline says at the end (“I’ll learn how, mother.”) makes me sad. It’s as though Madeline had had no one to in her life, besides her mother, who she had to be Madeline to. And once that one person hadn’t cared anymore, Madeline hadn’t either. It only makes me believe, even more so, that the whole Shiva thing and Madeline taking the drugs had been a coincidence. The contrast between the realism of the situation and the coincidentally poetic aspect of the situation is appealing, though it’s slight odd. |
| wavesparkle7217 2008-05-20 ch 1, | abuseI can't tell if this is deep or not... I think it's really good, but it sort of goes over my head. I like the allusion to Shiva. My favorite part is where Shiva becomes a Reformer. Shiva had to reform first! I also like the almost poetic style this is written in. |
| koel18 2008-05-04 ch 1, | abuseVery, very good! *claps* Like the idea, and the execution of it. The only thing is that the ideas are a bit disjointed, so it's somewhat hard to follow the storyline, especially if the reader isn't familiar with the story of Shiva. Keep writing! |
| The Writer's Goddess 2008-04-28 ch 1, | abuseI'll admit I got a little lost in the beginning, but I think I've pieced everything together. I don't really see how it's a retelling of the myth, but maybe that's just me. It could also have been longer. |
