ch 1,
abuse:) haha i love it.

i can't remember if i've told you before, but i applied to ncssm too. except my guidance councellor made it seem like /she/ was supposed to fill out my residency form, and i didn't find out that /i/ had to do it until about a month too late--by which time they had already had their discovery day.

i really should be there. was it this year when you applied?
"I hear of kids acceptance" --i guess this is a direct reference to the application thing.

i also just watched the movie 'charlie and the chocolate factory' last week, in the hospital room w/ my little sister. really beautiful movie, in my opinion.

i think it's really creative how you repeated how negatively the narrator felt about receiving "just damn" chocolate. it gives a lot more punch to the question that ends the piece.

"i'd rather be working for a paycheck than waiting to win the lottery" :):) lol

but, really, all us "writers" (no matter how suckish at writing we are) are dreamers. i think that's what i like about us--we want a lot of impossible stuff.

and we 'wait around, coping with rejection'... but most importantly (as you made clear through the structure of this piece), we're human. and we get disappointed, but we keep dreaming and making ourselves voulnerable. i mean, writing makes us voulnerable, but we do it anyway. yeah. that's definitely what i like about us.

:) nice poem.
