abuseWhy are your reviewers commenting how cryptic this piece is? It's so blatantly obvious, I think they skate around the rims too much. Or maybe I'm just in a horribly deppressive mood and I'm on a review spree because if I write faster than I think I might not talk to myself for one extra second than it takes to catch my breath.

lol. anyway.

I notice from your bio and other poems you have a contemtuous eye for cultural biases, and i'm sure living in a small town (I apologize if I'm wrong, I forgot what you told me earlier, a thousand pardons mistress).

Every school I've been to there's this fake society about how things operate and if you don't go with their flow then you're not 'one of us'. I am always dumbfounded how society and culture suddenly go from mere fabricated conventions to actual convictions in no time. Like everyone will almost unanimously come to associate what's in and what's out, like once you get this many people together there's going to be a leader, norms, and all that other crap that magically appears... astounding really, but i guess not so much since you see it in lower animals.

It's tragic that us 'higher' animals are still too narrow minded to get over our short biases. It must be even more strenuous, and I say this with seriousness, being a lesbian or gay. It's like, hey, here's the traditional media values, then there's you (the other 10%). But you know all that stuff which I won't need to elaborate.

don't worry, your retreat into the woods is coming closer everyday. :)

abuseInteresting. I love the stanza "how/i'd paint my skin in pinks/and smell like apples." That's lovely. And then "thick hands" is also very nice. Keep writing! :)

abusei really like this one.
i love the lineation, the stanzas.
i especially like the fact that it's not as mindbogglingly cryptic as some of your other poems can be.
Don't get me wrong, your imagery is ALWAYS incredible. Sometimes though, and maybe it's just me, its a little hard to get to.
In this one, the imagery is, as per your usual, incredible, but also easier to grasp.

Bravo!
