Reviews For: The Masquerade
thexamimi 2008-09-14 . chapter 1
Hey, it's Mimi from FFNet dah-ling. ;)
I read this, and was "Awing" the whole time. This was adorable, although I already knew Jack Holland was going to be the man in the mask. ;p Obvious hints.

Haha. I liked the end quote. Gives the reader a bit of a ponderous side.

That was really cute.

Hmm. I'll freely admit that the high school reunion/ball premise seems just a TAD unrealistic, but what fun is life if we can't illuminate our little fantasies like revenge and ironic love all at the same time? So, this is cute, even if it never really surprised me.

JEANNIE!

It's Viv. :P Cute.
TuneOut 2008-05-08 . chapter 1
I liked the premise of the story. It was cute. I like the characters especially Jack since he seems charming. I don't know if I'm willing to suspend my belief that high school reunions are masquerades though. I haven't had one yet so I may be wrong, but I always just thought of them as a relaxed party where people just catch up with their lives. Also, I think 10 years is a little far fetched to still have a crush on someone. Just my opinion but I think it would have been more believable if they were reminiscing and he mentioned that he had liked her.

Mj, even though you outlined the entire plot to me a day before I read this, I still greatly enjoyed reading it. I guess it would be like the difference between being told about a beautiful painting and actually seeing it for yourself. XD

The characters seem to be well thought-out, and even though this story is incredibly short, you can see the defining traits and characteristics that shape them. Jack's motives for teasing are realistic, as is the the protaganist's willing to forgive him when everything is found out at the conclusion. Overall, this was a very good fic. :)
