Tim Cummings 5/8/12 . chapter 1Nicely crafted. I'm reading through your stuff and I am impressed by how well you portray emotional landscape. Not easy to do. Your character here is very well fleshed out and real; in a situation that is easy to relate to. The 'can't go home again' conflict (btw, almost everyone does) can be very strong, but your character's comfortable experience didn't give you much tension. I think you could really soar if you gave yourself something more dynamic to work with. |
Tomoyuki Tanaka 1/8/10 . chapter 1Short and sweet. That pretty much sums up your story. It is very heavy on the nostalgia, which is a good thing, of course. We all love nostalgia. It is sweet how the narrator revisits the places of her past before she departs, and how memories and attachment to her hometown never fades, always to linger in her heart. Nice! |
DayAndNight 12/19/08 . chapter 1Hello! If you recall, you favorited one of my two stories some time ago. I decided to see how the person who had been so generous wrote in her own stories, and this story caught my eye. I thought is was very well written, a perfect short story, and just a nice little thing to read while I was relaxing after a long day. The figurative language was apparent and used to its full power. I send my accolades! |
kloun mannequin 5/9/08 . chapter 1maybe it's the imagery, I just felt peace of mind when I was reading, it's a nice story by the way. |
