Heya!

Well, this is certainly different from your normal stuff, though not in a bad kind of different, of course! I was thinking about Abraham Lincoln all the way through it (because of the slavery issue) and the last line was great at generating even more thought about it. Great use of metaphors with the statue/girl! And with her loving a slave she can never save/have; very nicely done. It puts a whole new spin to requited love. It also made me appreciate what we have here more - it's listed under fantasy, but how many people in the world today suffer because of slavery?

Great work! It's just a little short and could do with more emotional description. It didn't really tug at my heart significantly, but it definitely has the potential to!
