| Getuie 2008-06-07 ch 1, | abuseI'm trying to think of what to say about this piece that you don't already know. It's obviously a piece about transition... and while it would at first appear to be a good one it twists in the end... leaving you unsure of whether it was to begin with. One can never really come to ask 'where did it go wrong?'. Was it when she first allowed the man's influence? It's interesting that he will later find himself just as uncomfortable and cut off as her initial friends. That she will surpass even his zone of comfort. That she will become as lost to him as to them. I like how you introduced him and the comparison of studying her as she studies the book. I like how you painted his influence as subtle and how she is drawn out from her previous state of mind. This was really a facinating piece in so many ways, I fear I won't ever stop babbling if I really got into it. So I'll add it to my fav's instead. :) |
