Reviews for On the Way to America
leavesfallingup 10/1/12 . chapter 1
As tiresome and annoying as the clerk at the end of the story might have seemed at the time, we descendents are grateful for the bespectacled men and their neat handwriting in innumerable ledger books. Their work has made it possible for us to trace our heritage. By this I learned of my own Irish descendents, as well as my German descendents as they each made their journey.

As you may or may not have seen I just reviewed A Walk in the Dark. I read On the Way to America a while ago, and I'd just like to see if you were going to continue this. If you have time to get back to me on that, cool!

Very cute so far. I love Patrick, he reminds me of my own grandfather, very old worldly, but full of love for his children and grandchildren. I hope you are still updating, as I see that this story has not been updated in a while.

By the late 1800s, maritime operatiors were toying with longwav radio, and by using microwave beams they could even communicate through fog. Although it would turn out to take decades before practical microwave transmissions were developed, it was only a few years later that Marconi would introduce a successful system using longwave signals, and soon many of the larger passenger liners began carrying radio equipment. By 1912 all Ocean going liners carried radio equipment.

(Your comment would hardly be construed as a 'review', but thats for the question.)

How exactly did they get news of a foundering ship?

Lol!

That sounds so interesting, that was a fantastic first chapter, I really enjoyed it. Yet I still say I have no idea where you get all these brilliant ideas from. Regardless, you have to update and soon, this is a brilliant chapter and I already love the two main characters introduced. One of the main things I enjoy about all your stories is that you do not mention so many characters that a person can't keep up with. You are as I've mentioned before a talented author. Do update soon, will be waiting.
