That was fantastic! Historical fiction is my favorite genre, and war stories are especially interesting to me ever since I read The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien. The very end felt a little erratic with the jumps in time, and I've never really been a happy ending person.. but it was still very good. Nice job!

Not too sappy at all! I loved it, especially the way all the main characters came topgtgher at the end, it finished the story off so well! It really made me happy to read it :) Im so glad Rob came back unharmed, perhaps there could have been a little bit on what happened to him? Apart from that just lovely, its so good to see such a happy endiong for sam and lilli! well done!

aw this chapter is so beautiful! i love the way he left her a trail, it was very clever the way it took her to significant places in the story. Such a good ending to a wonderful story, i almost dont want to read the epilogue so that the ending stays so perfect! but im sure it will be just as good so off i go...

It's nice to hear some more from Kate and Wes! The dialogue between them is very natural, and I really got into this chapter. Kate's reaction to the ring when she didnt even look at it before kissing him was great! I could really imagine them walking round the house, imagining it fully furnished. well done!

Yes, the chapter was short but the language was very effective, I loved the way it ended with Sam deciding to write his own journal entries. I really like the way the whole stroy has been interspersed with Lilli's letters, perhaps there were just a few too many here after hearing the story told once already, but they were beautifully written!

yay they're finally together! it was slightly abrupt but the conversation they had was very real. I love the way Lilli said she would have cried out joe's name but grieved over sam; the way you write is so poignant and beautiful! Also the way you described Lilli enjoying the orchard but sam making it even better was lovely. everything happened a bit fast here, im glad that lilli asked sam to ask her to marry him again so it wasn't so sudden, and overall it was really nice to have their first kiss in such a different scenario as to what the reader expected.

This was such a lovely warm chapter! I really like the diary entry at the end, it makes Lilli's emotions really clear without making the story forced by including them all in the rest of the chapter. They are so sweet together, the way they both like eachother but are afraid to talk about it! You showed both sides of the story very well here, i felt really close to both sam and lilli, and the other girls added some fun to it! :)

This was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL story. Gorgeous. I loved every minute of it, and it was on my mind all day until I was able to finish it.

There were some spelling and grammar mistakes in the first few chapters, but I believe I lost track of them as I became more and more entranced with the story. I loved how incredibly sweet it was, and how it was an amazing romance that wasn't...(it's very hard to find a word)...all about sex.

This was a lovely piece of work, and you should be so very proud of yourself for having written it.

ok firstly i think i owe you a massive apology for taking so long to review! i've had a lot of work lately and have pretty much stopped writing, but im gunna force myself to sit down and start writing some more! also i don't know if my computer's just being weird or if its fictionpress but none of my reviews seem to be showing up, so i thought i had a lot more to catch up on than i did. anyway, onto the story...this chapter was one of the most atmospheric ive read, i had to stop myself from getting too excited about christmas! the way lilli's pillow smelt of sam was so touching, i love the subtle details you have put in here. and im so glad theyre getting closer and putting up with eachother more! i can't find any criticisms here, ive being looking for something to say but i cant! so well done, i will definately start reading more consistently especially as its getting more exciting by the chapter!
