Your imagery is wonderful, and I love how you used metaphor and personification to describe what was happening at that point in time. I also liked how you compared the rain drops to drums and musical instruments, it creates very good imagery for how that particular day was and I liked the comparison. You might work on clarifying some of your points like "near-death instruments", which was really about the one thing that confused me here. Other than that, very well done!

Cool idea. Some of the middle is confusing, but you wrap it all up in the end.
