I have always had this fascination for drains after hearing about a bunch of people from the warsaw ghetto who hid in the sewer system of the city until the war was over. It could use some expansion, give the reader a reason to look inside the drain, make them curious and feel tempted, make it irresistible to follow down the drain. Trap the reader, maybe with insight the character's life or feelings.

Anyway great story, sort of reminds me of my story The Crack In The Tile from Don't Fear The Reaper, with the person not being able to take their eyes off of something. Keep writing!
