Cute story! Perhaps you should try smoother transitions where it looks like that would work. I know sometimes you cut around but maybe trying smooth transitions would help the story flow more. Also, my favorite rat pun is Ratnam. But you gotta watch out with how many rat's you put before something else just so it doesn't get redundant.
