Music sure has changed over the years. Looks like that's how it is with every music genre. There are these new bands/singers who come up thinking that they're something they're not. But as times pass, music does as well so maybe you think they're not metal when they really are. Standards have changed tremendously. And it's pretty easy to get two different genres confused. Like rap and hip hop for example. I'm not a big fan of metal so I can't really take sides.

That's my review as far as the actual essay goes...or whatever you want to call it. But as for constructive criticism...I'm pretty sure you already know what's up.

Ranting=bad.

That's not an opinion thing either. Before you think I'm going to start flaming this, I'm just letting you know people might not take you seriously because of some of your choice of words in this one.

Could this have been written better? Sure. But it's your story.

Why am I so surprised that MCR were mentioned here? XD
Well, I sort of agree with you...I hate poser bands, too, ones that claim to play punk rock when its just really pop *coughAvrilLavingecough* or when they claim to be metal when they're really Emotive Hardcore.
But, I do like Avril Lavinge, even though she does NOT sing Punk Rock, and I LOVE Emotive Harcore. I like the music, it's just the poseur-ing that annoys me. XD
MCR is my favorite band (no, they didn't save my life. I just like their music), but I can personally tell you they are definitley NOT metal. I still love them, though.
Anyways, good piece. I liked reading it; except for the degrading homosexual terms. Those were kida offensive. Good job. =D
