You've done a wonderful job of this story. I can understand how Jack feels. And considering they still feel the same after a year, it's very difficult to think badly of them. I especially appreciate how slowly Jack is taking their relationship. They truly are friends before lovers. And he's being very considerate.

Poor Ethan's mom though. Her boyfriend falls for her very young son. I can see her point of view. It very much seems that he was befriending her to get to Ethan and corrupt him. Ethan needs his mom to be his mom, not someone competing for a guy. She's going to have to open her mind a whole heck of a lot.
