This is cute. The ridiculous plot meeting the old-timey, almost condescending language is reminiscent of Lemony Snicket.

Also, since fish swim in bowls, aren't they basically just fish soup that hasn't been cooked yet?

Very nice idea. I think it could be improved by building on it though, getting a proper story out of it instead of just a few paragraphs. I'd like to read that.

You know what? Even if you did write it when you would have been better off sleeping; that's still a pretty cute little story. ^_^ I enjoyed it.
