i liked that you opened with that quote, it set the mood well.

there are some fantastic descriptions in the begining, but there is a little too much info thrown at the reader all at once (info dump) cut it down just a little bit. mayeb we can learn more about this character in bits and peices as the story unfolds.

this is a good start to the story. High action and suspense and great descrition. And it's obviously been well researced which is a very good thing:)

Superb! I love stories written about this sort of topic, and I am a huge Tom Clancy fan, so this quenches my thirst! I sincerely hope you continue this saga.
