Hm...that was short, but in a way...quite deep. And I mean in a good way.

I like it though. The ending's almost bittersweet though. cause they're alive tonight, but you're not sure if it'll be that way the next night.

Though as you said, the context eludes me, this piece is powerful. Simplicity of words really brings the emotions to the surface and makes them relatable; even though I cannot personally relate to the idea.
