Reviews For: Early Morning Reveries
Charles Moretti 2008-07-21 . chapter 1
A very lovely little poem. The descriptions are superbly done, and it all flows so wonderfully. I agree somewhat with the other reviewer, that the first few lines may be the weakest part- they're good, but the poem gets better as it goes along (which is a good thing, it seems to build up in terms of emotion and depth). I like the emotion that begins the second stanza ("remembering the way you laughed, / a sweet tickle in my ear," very sweet). The "faded movie reel / etched in my mind" is lovely and a great way to end the poem. Beautifully written, bravo!
Thoughtful Silence 2008-07-21 . chapter 1
I really liked the title of this. The piece itself had some vivid imagery, and effective lines; 'Weakness curves my lips' especially was essentially a summation of this entire poem. The last two lines were a nice, yet sad culmination to this. Kudos.
One thing I didn't like 'bout this was that the first four lines were a bit... generic compared to the rest of the poem. Anyways, keep up the good work.
