The rhythm is unusual and I like that about it. It kind of ties in with the idea of "beating a new rhythm" which is lovely by the way. The simplicity of the first stanza also works really well with the rest of the piece.
I really like the last two stanzas, especially the line about the new rhythm that was a really interesting description. The first stanza was ok, but more setting up the premise than anything. The ending though was really great.
