The ending was funny, sad, sweet, and angry all at the same time! I really liked it! Usually, I'm not much of a sci-fi person, but this was good. I liked the concept and the danger of the story. Also, the way you percieved things and the wide vocabulary made it that much more interesting.
I didn't really notice any grammar problems (which I'm usually a stickler for :)).

Nicely done. Good story overall--not too long, not too short. And I like that you've given us a transformed world without going into too many details. It's easily visualized and uncomplicated.
