I think this sums up the feeling amazingly. Even if you are not gay, I think everyone feels like this at one time or another. I also like the way you used only lowercase letters. It adds to the atmosphere.

This is amazing. It's got an interesting rhythm in my head, and I'm very fond of this line:
i am red letter, the hot topic, the watercooler conversation starter.

Also, the lowercase, I think, makes it feel listless and bleak, in a wonderfully appropriate way.
