This starts off being rather disappointing - I thought at first that the song would be meaningless mystical melodrama. In fact, as I read on, I was delighted by the dark and complex imagery, the mass of mythological references and the rhymes that seem almost to physically bind the piece together. It does have a balladic feel, I can see that it would work beautifully set to music.
