Hokit 6/5/09 . chapter 3One thing that I forgot to mention is that while I love the relationship between Alex and Victor, it does seem that it's developing a little too fast. For example, I felt that it was too forward, and perhaps unrealistic, that Victor would almost immediately ask Alex out on a date without hesitating. At the risk of sounding as if I'm drawing on stereotypes, many guys who share Victor's characteristics (i.e. firefighter, masculine) would be very guarded towards any signs which might have people questioning their masculinity. Maybe you could slow down the pace in hooking up Alex and Victor by accounting for issues which they'd need to overcome beforehand, such as reservations, hesitation, uncertainty and maybe even embarassment. Also, there are other possible issues that could be included in the storyline, such as the trauma that Victor might've felt from the fire. Please don't take what I said as a negative criticism of 'Flowers for Sasha' because it's far from it. I'd love to see this story fulfil the potential that its plot has and perhaps that's why you also felt the need to rewrite it from scratch :) Again, soldier on and keep feeding us hapless fans our daily dose of slashy romance ;) |
Hokit 6/5/09 . chapter 6WHAT? You're deleting 'Flowers for Sasha'? I'm not one to lecture writers on what they should do with their work, but come on, this story is GOOD! Personally, I don't find the dialogue "awkward and boring", since deep and meaningful conversations usually don't occur until two people get to know each other a bit better. What I do agree with you is that 'Flowers for Sasha' does have a unique plot that has loads of potential for interesting character and relationship developments! It's a great idea and something which I think could even work on the big screen as well! Also, The characters are great and what I like most is that you didn't depict them in a stereotypically "gay" manner. Both Sasha and Victor are MEN and it's refreshing to witness a romance developing between two MASCULINE characters. Again, I think 'Flowers for Sasha' is fine the way it is at the moment. However, if you feel that the story cannot move on without some modifications made to the first 5 chapters, then I'd rather you make the changes than leave the story unfinished. As you said, it's got too much of a great plot to be left on a hiatus ;) Keep up the great work! And I'm looking forward to an update :) |
D.H. L'Orange 2/8/09 . chapter 6wow, full on rewrite... you're certainly ambitious! sure i'll start over with you. looking forward to it, as i thought the characters were pretty cool. : ) DH |
Shinosu 2/7/09 . chapter 5Love the story! Can't wait to see how Victor will finally get through to Alexander - I'm assuming that he won't give up, because I'm a sucker for happy endings. :) Keep up the good work, and I hope to see an update soon! Greets, Shinosu |
D.H. L'Orange 1/30/09 . chapter 5aw this looks like a sweet story! please continue! : ) DH |
xanthofile 1/30/09 . chapter 5i like this story too much for you to give up too! ::laughs:: i normally put any update emails aside for a later time, but i clicked this one and read it as soon as i saw it in my inbox. there's just something about the awkwardness of someone like a doctor still living with his grandmother that really gets me. not very constructive of a review, i know, but it's supportive. xanth |
TRSNG 1/11/09 . chapter 4Sometimes I think writers might not understand how much of a compliment it is when people shout nothing but 'MORE PLZ' in a review. I love these dudes and their story left me thinking nothing but 'PLZ MORE PLZ'. HERE I AM COMPLIMENTING YOU NOW. Loved the long dinner scene.x |
persimmon 12/26/08 . chapter 4Hiya, this is a really, really cute story, and I can't wait to see the rest of it. They're both adorable...though Sasha's a little insensitive at times (but it comes off as just adorably clueless so it doesn't really matter). |
RitaHouston 11/28/08 . chapter 2I love the story |
Nova laVie 11/16/08 . chapter 4aw that was great! i love this story so much! i can't wait to read more of it! |
xanthofile 11/13/08 . chapter 4this is all sweet and somewhat smoky, like eating butterscotch candies around a campfire. really really adorable, by the way, both these boys. wish i could say more for it, one way or the other, but i'm still affected by the sweetness and thus rendered practically wordless. anyway. love reading about them, and i'll be hoping for an update sometime. xanth |
Antilus 11/7/08 . chapter 4I'm pretty sure I'm in love with this story - or just Victor; it's hard to tell. He likes to set himself up for disappointment so much it's cute. |
Happy 11/4/08 . chapter 4 I really like this story. It's sweet, even if it's a little on the corny side, but I think that I can imagine really saying these lines makes it more dimensional. I just wished that Sasha had more... conviction in him (?) because it almost looks like he's just there to go with the flow. He's way too nice really. I'd like to see how this turns out and hopefully, it wont be the typical ending. This plot isnt that common in fictionpress so i'm really glad to read something new :) |
Amy 8/28/08 . chapter 4 Wow, I absolutely love these characters. Can't wait to see where you go with them. |
The Falconer 8/25/08 . chapter 3I'm really excited about this story! I like how casually you write about the medical stuff-not drowning the reader with technical terms. It's well-written with just the right amount of humour... some nice hints to Victor's past (the tattoo), secondary characters that are fleshed out while staying, well, secondary! And I find the main characters and the grandma very endearing. Cool stuff. I'm looking forward to more of it! |
