disappearing in the shadow 2009-08-26 . chapter 1roti prata? ahahah im indian. it made me smile. tehehe |
ir0nna 2009-08-13 . chapter 1 oh yeah and i totally agree with everything you said.
'our soccer team sucks more than when britney spears shaved her head'.
lol
:D
it's true though... |
 ir0nna 2009-08-13 . chapter 1OMG YOU'RE FROM SINGAPORE!
Go singapore!
Whoo~
And they say local writers can't make it big. |
Sakina the Fallen Angel 2009-07-25 . chapter 1Wow, this essay is great and really put a smile to my face. Singapore seems to be such an underrated and overlooked country, at least where I come from! Thank you for opening my eyes!

loveintheairwaves 2009-06-05 . chapter 1Hey there! I love this essay that you wrote about Singapore, makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside when I can relate to everything you say inside the essay. :D
PW= Most Useless Subject ever. I'm working on my PW now and I cannot tell you how many nights I sleep at 2am just to turn in one assignment that may or may not be graded. :s
Yes and I agree that our education system here is a pain in the ass! We study so much it's insane and all the memorising of contents in textbooks and lecture notes really kills brain cells.& The whole metal button thing, I can totally relate with you. My metal buttons on the shoulders always dig into my shoulders when my school bag is heavy. -_-
"People go to the airport for fun, as compared to going to take a flight or welcoming somebody back home" - I do this all the time. I actually sat an MRT for half an hour to Terminal 3 at 11pm just for icecream on New Year's Eve last year and I don't even know why when there's like a million icecream uncles everywhere!
I've always enjoyed all your stories and I'm really sorry to know about the plagiarism problems that you've had. Your stories are really good and my friends and I have always enjoyed reading your stories.Since you're probably going to be on hiatus from FP, I wish you all the best in everything you do. Good Luck to you in whatever you do and hopefully one day, I might just get to read your published work in the future. :D

:D All The Best! :DD |
 cookie monsta 2009-06-03 . chapter 1Hey!
This story probably sums up what a lot of Singaporeans feel about our homeland - pride despite the many things to complain about.
A great piece of writing, I really loved it haha.
"We’re so big on shopping, we have Suntec City, VivoCity, Ngee Ann City… and they’re not actual cities."
I don't know why I found this so funny, but I did. And there's more! Velocity, Raffles City...
And the national day songs? Totally agree with you. Looking forward to see how else they can express "I love Singapore" in a song. And the videos are the win.

Urban Candyhearts 2009-06-02 . chapter 1I AM TOTALLY VISITING SINGAPORE.
After I go to Europe, though (don't take offense at that--Europe has always been number one in my life--after dance). C:
I liked how there's so much pride in your country in this essay. C:
Pity I can't summon up the same amount of patrotism for China, though I was born there (that might have something to do, though, with my cousin and the fact that I've only been to China once since I emigrated and it was an awful experience.)
BUT YOU.
Come to America.
And visit NJ.
And then I'll say hi to you if I see you stalkin' the streets of my suburb. C: |
Icyfire4w5 2009-05-29 . chapter 1Hiya! I am also from the Little Red Dot! Yeah, I have known people who mix Singapore up with Hong Kong or Sri Lanka. Plus, somebody once asked me, "When would China claim Singapore back?"
Oh dear, your grandfather fled from the Communists? The KMT almost "dragged" my grandfather into some army in Nanjing, but somehow he ended up in Singapore. Phew!
I agree with everything that you have written, you are much, much more observant than me! :) However, I am kinda puzzled about "the ice cream man at Raffles Place", haha. |
 thelittlespirit 2009-05-21 . chapter 1 hello Louisa/fellow Singaporean!
I was really, really touched by this post of yours, not just because its so beautifully written, but because of the way you are so proud of singapore.
haha I have friends who are on fp who just fake that they're from japan or america, so that people won't look down on them. I always get really mad/AH on them cause I just don't get why they're embarrased to show their nationality! and when I was going through your profile, I was like "huh. little red dot. sounds familiar" and then I took a look through the story and was like WOW.
you're a brilliant writer as well, so I really look forward to reading more of your works :)and like I said, I'm awesomely touched by this. (haha I half thought you were going to break out with "This is Home, truly,")so. thank you so, so much for this post.
god bless, hannah. |
happenchance 2009-03-11 . chapter 1woots fellow singaporean! yeah...
was kinda surprised that singaporeans actually write here, seeing as to how almost every story i've read seems to set in US or UK or even Australia.
i think this story describes us really well.
PW sucks. i got a freaking B in it.
i hate PW..
i think a huge part of singapore is the education system. haha, foreigners probably won't understand how we are all so kiasu. die die must get A.
:o) |
sa 2009-02-14 . chapter 1 hey! I was so surprised to find out you're from Singapore too!! (not that it's a bad thing) but somehow, cos we're so small and so few I keep having the impression almost everyone is from e US or UK. (which is prob true too)
so when i saw the title 'the little red dot' it really caught me by surprise. I'm terribly glad and pleased though, and I'm thinking it'd be nice if you could write stories with Singapore as the background. Just a thought.
^^ |
myst! 2009-02-07 . chapter 1 hey hey! :D im from singapore too ahahaha!
and yes, i totally can't stand project work. gosh. :P |
Angel of Ink 2009-02-04 . chapter 1You make Singapore sound absolutely crazy and absolutely awesome. You definitely made me want to go there on the trip around the world I'll probably never take. =)
I live in the US, but I'm from the country... so when I saw the thing about your trees making other countries look naked I had to see what you were talking about. Most cities are really naked, I agree, which is kind of a shame. |
stars-above 2009-01-16 . chapter 1OMGOSH, I'm from Singapore to! Nicely written, this! And so true!
And another thing, I didn't know the chewing gum ban thing was lifted! Gah, and I've been hiding the chewing gum in my bag and tensing (and trying not to look too suspicious) whenever I go past customs! Gah.
Oh, and I lurve SINGLISH too lah! :D |
Written 2008-12-25 . chapter 1oh, LOVE singapore... only been through there a few times but it's awesome. I have some family that lived there for a time. I don't think I could move there (I'm a small town girl- think cowboy films), but I love visiting. |
