I really, really liked this. Simple story that has all the necessary elements to induce fear: the vulnerability, the disbelief, the confrontation, the aftermath as the villian(ess) seeks other prey. You never explain much about the monster, why it's invisible to others, neither its tendency to cannibalism nor what it means to "play," and that's precisely why it raises the necessary question mark above the reader's head, the necessary dread.
All in all, an extraordinary grasp on what truly makes a story, and makes me gosh damn proud and privledged to have you as my reviewer.
